About Nigel Halliwell
Nigel is a highly respected carpenter by trade but his passion for over 25 years has been photography but it has only been the last 7/8 years solely dedicated to landscape and in 2002 purchased an Ebony LF camera which he feels has very much improved his photography. It is very true it slows a person down but also made him far more patient, selective and that most important giving yourself time to look around your chosen location and subject.
He has very much admired the work of Joe Cornish and David Ward over the last few years and they were instrumental in the decision to move to LF. He is very conscious that it is extremely difficult to bring a new way of seeing the landscape but puts composition as the challenge for creating his ideal picture.
He has been extremely fortunate over the last couple of years to have been asked to assist Joe on his Northallerton based workshops and more recently assisting for Light and Land in Canada. He was delighted this year when one of his images was used for the front cover of Light and Lands book Developing Vision and Style and also now supplies images to Oxford Scientific Films stock library.
