These images where taken during Dec/Jan this year in the northern part of Fuerteventura in the sand dunes of the Parc Natural de Corralejo.  At this time of year sunrise and sunset are a sociable 7.45am and 6.00pm.

The dunes cover quite a large area so there are many different photographic opportunities including a number of volcanoes on the periphery of the park.

The Canary Islands are also known to be quite windy so the down side is the battle with wind blowing sand but by dawn most footprints have been blown over during the night from the previous day’s visitors.

So if you’re looking for some winter sun and some great picture opportunities I can thoroughly recommend Fuerteventura.
